Objective and Project Impact
Use improvements in basic literacy as a lever for furthering development, by supporting selected govt primary schools with facilities like school benches/ desks, teaching & learning materials, sports facilities, support for science laboratory etc. Nearly 2200 children from 25 schools will be the beneficiaries. We hope that this will help in improving the Literacy rates in rural Karnataka from the present level of 60%.
This project will be implemented within 16 / 20 Weeks from date of receipt of funds.
Each school has a school development & monitoring committee (SDMC) which consists of teachers, parents and local govt officials as members. This committee will ensure proper maintenance and continuity of the Project work.
Additionally, the cluster resource person (CRP) for the Kodihalli cluster where majority of the schools are present will monitor and promote proper use of teaching aids etc. The CRP will enlist high school and college teachers to train primary school teachers on science and match concepts and kits.
